“Rescue those unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die.” – Proverbs 24:11
Wowza! Is it ever hot here in Charlotte. It’s 101 degrees as I write on Sunday, July 25. Thankfully, today is likely the last day of the current heat wave.
Truth & Mercy is cooking, too. Remember, I’m in the midst of my 11-baby shower summer!
Baby #1 born
Mao, who I reported on last month, had her baby girl June 22, the day I sent the last update. Little baby Lyra weighed 6lb 9oz and was 18″ long. At the hospital, I finally got the opportunity to meet Jim, Mao’s husband of 11 years. Lyra is blessed to be born into such a big, loving family. She has 6 brothers and sisters, age 10 and under. Thank Jesus for His intervention and prevention of her scheduled abortion. Mao and Jim were facing unemployment when she became pregnant with Lyra. Thankfully, Jim is back to work. Here is Lyra, one day old:
Baby #2 born
Monikka, who I also reported on last month, had her baby boy July 16. Tymiere weighed 7lb 14oz. Tymiere was also scheduled to be aborted, but thanks to the efforts and bold witness of Katherine Hearn and other gentle Christians, he is alive, whole, and now welcomed into a loving family of his own. Here he is at 10 days:
Baby #3 born
Hilary also had her baby boy just a few days ago. You will remember I reported on her last month as well. I haven’t met Anthony Gabriel face-to-face yet, but here are two fuzzy cell phone pictures, taken when he was only a few hours old:
Summer shower #5
Truth & Mercy showered Alejandra on July 13. She is a very young gal, almost 17, who became pregnant after a rebellious year-long period. God used this pregnancy to get her attention and draw her to Himself. She considered abortion for a fleeting moment, but instead confided in her loving parents who wrapped their arms around her, forgave her and now support her.
I found out about her need for baby items through Chris Griffin, who has lovingly taken her to all her doctor appointments in Concord. She is under the care of the wonderful, skilled doctors at Northgate Family Medicine. Truth & Mercy was able to lavishly shower her with all the usual baby items (they are listed down below in Patricia’s report). Her unborn son, to be named Anthony, is a blessed child. Alejandra, a smart young lady, plans to go back to school and finish her education. I am confident that God is at work in her life. After her shower, I took her to dinner and had a fabulous opportunity to witness to her and explain the Gospel. I gave her several books and Gospel materials. Here is Alejandra, who is due August 21:
Summer shower #6
My next shower was for Patricia. Katherine Hearn met Patricia at the Latrobe abortion center as her life was crumbling all around her. Her situation was dire. I don’t want to share too much of the personal details — but trust me — hers is one of the most challenging cases I’ve encountered in my 21 years of ministry. Thank God for Katherine, who isn’t afraid to run to the roar. She has helped Patricia in countless ways, many more I’m surely unaware of. You helped, too! I asked for beds and furniture and you responded! Truth & Mercy was able to give her a beautiful (and I mean beautiful), complete full size bed, with lovely pillowtop mattress and a matching dresser. This furniture is for her 2-year old son. (Thank you, Jennifer!!) She also has a one-year old daughter. Because of your generosity, I was able to give them toddler car seats, too.
Her unborn baby boy, to be named George, is due in October. Last week I was showered her with everything for him: crib, mattress, new comforter and bedding set, changing table, changing pad, new infant car seat, stroller, bouncy seat, tub, 2 years of clothing, monitor, diaper bag, medical kit, blankets, bibs, bottles, toys, books, movies, potty seat, formula, hooded towels, washcloths, many packs of diapers, wipes and more.
Katherine and I took her to dinner and had a divine opportunity to share the exclusive claims of Christ with her. I believe our time together was anointed and ordained. I left her with books and information about the life-changing Gospel. Here is Patricia:
My next two showers will be for Jalessa, who is expecting a boy September 31, and See, who is due in October.
Specific needs. Can you help?
I have a few special requests to ask your help with. You wonderful people never cease to amaze me with your generous giving! I’ve learned not to fret and instead to ask you for what I need!
Deidra, who is due in October, asked only for an electric breast pump. She was so humble and sweet and didn’t think she needed any more help than this pump. I have a manual one in my supply, but not an electric one. She is committed to breastfeeding but also has to work, so she needs an efficient pump. Can you help?
Shameeka is a recent save from the Latrobe killing center. She has a 9-year old son, 2-year old son, 1-year old boy/girl twins AND a baby due in December. This unborn baby was almost aborted but Shameeka turned away from the killing center — when offers of help were made to her — and she needs a lot of help! She and her children went to church with Katherine Hearn recently. God is working in her life. Let’s be His hands and feet and provide some basic needs.
Does anyone have a triple stroller to donate or to sell me at a low price? Shameeka also needs cribs for her twins, and one for the unborn baby. Her need for 3 cribs and mattresses exceeds my current supply.
If I have to buy a triple shower new, at retail, it will likely cost at least $350. If you are willing to research a stroller on Craig’s List (or something similar) and do the legwork to get it to me, that would be a wonderful option and a great way to serve! Let me know.
I also need infant car seats, cribs, mattresses and pack-n-plays for several upcoming showers, too.
If you can help, email me at TruthMercyLife@aol.com or call 704-992-0195. If you can mail financial help, make your check payable to Truth & Mercy Prolife Ministry and mail it to 4803 Crownvista Drive, Charlotte, NC 28269. (Unfortunately, financial gifts are not tax-deductible.)
Thank you for prayerfully considering these requests.
